What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Some are essential, like the one that keeps you signed in. Others follow you around the web. We only ever use the essential kind.
The cookie we use
If you're just browsing and never sign in to the member portal, we don't set any cookies at all.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
kumi_session | Keeps you signed in to the member portal after you enter your email and access code | 30 days, or until you sign out | Strictly necessary, first party |
It's HttpOnly, so scripts on the page can't read it. It's Secure, so it only ever travels over an encrypted connection. And it's signed, so it can't be tampered with. It holds nothing about you beyond what's needed to recognise that it's you.
Why there's no cookie banner
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), a website asks before setting cookies, unless a cookie is strictly necessary for something you've asked for. Our one cookie is exactly that: it's what lets you stay signed in.
That's why you won't see a consent banner here. There's simply nothing extra to say yes or no to.
Google Fonts
Our typefaces come from Google Fonts. Google Fonts doesn't set cookies, though your browser does share your IP address with Google when it fetches them. There's more about this in our privacy notice.
We keep the site free of analytics, advertising cookies and social media pixels. Our “Find your seat” quiz happens in your browser, and your answers stay with you.
Choosing what your browser keeps
You're always free to view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Each browser does it a little differently:
If you'd rather block our cookie, the rest of the site works just the same. The member portal simply won't be able to keep you signed in.
If this changes
If we'd ever like to add analytics or any other non-essential cookie, we'll ask you first and only set it if you're happy to say yes. We'll update this page too.
